Sexual Harassment Support
|
A support community for anyone who has experienced sexual harassment.
These are the most common reasons a story is not added to the
stories page:
- The story does not describe what happened. (For example, no more detail other than "I
was sexually harassed...")
You do not have to include a lot of detail, but enough so that it is clear that this was a sexual
harassment or stalking situation, and not some other form of discrimination or abuse.
- The story was written like erotic fiction, or are clearly erotic fiction. This area is for true
stories of sexual harassment or stalking, and not a showcase for porn, or abuse
fantasies.
- The story is illegible or way too long. (We will edit for clarity when we can.)
- The events describe a situation that was obviously a misunderstanding or a
miscommunication, and not sexual harassment. For example, when English is not the
first language of either the alleged harasser or the alleged target, pronunciation and
context can be misinterpreted.
- The events described do not involve sexual harassment or stalking.
Not all forms of abuse or discrimination constitute sexual harassment, and many people
are still confused as to what sexual harassment REALLY is. It is important that published
stories do not help fuzzy the issue.
Also, a consensual sexual relationship between two adults is NOT sexual harassment.
Unless they involve direct or implied Quid Pro Quo harassment, or retaliation (after one
party tries to break things off), stories of office affairs that go "sour" will not be published.
In most cases, we try to work with what has been submitted. When necessary, we will edit
stories so that they fit the guidelines, as long as it is not going to change the story to do so.
Please note, stories must be submitted with a VALID email address for
confirmation. If you do not include a valid email address, it is unlikely your
story will be published.
